At SMS Equipment, we are looking for an experienced Equipment Finance Regional Manager to lead our Equipment Finance Department. This role is pivotal in supporting our sales teams by providing innovative financing solutions that help customers acquire Komatsu, BOMAG, and Takeuchi equipment. This position is based in Acheson, AB, with a hybrid work arrangement.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Leadership & Strategy: Guide and develop Equipment Finance Representatives to enhance their capabilities and department effectiveness. Support representatives with complex financing packages, working with senior leadership to craft tailored solutions.
  • Sales & Financing Solutions: Drive equipment sales by identifying and promoting attractive financing programs. Evaluate and leverage available financing sources to support sales, while offering competitive financing solutions tailored to Komatsu, BOMAG, and Takeuchi products.
  • Industry Engagement & Partnerships: Build relationships within the equipment financing sector to expand our financing offerings. Represent SMS Equipment at financing conferences and industry events. Establish and maintain strong partnerships with leasing companies and other financial institutions to ensure the best financing options are available.
  • Process Improvement & Compliance: Review and optimize the equipment finance process to support sales efficiency. Assess financial risk, review credit applications, and ensure compliance with financing procedures. Oversee contract negotiations to align with company policies and customer benefits.
  • Training & Reporting: Educate sales representatives and customers on financing options. Monitor key financial metrics, track performance, and prepare reports to support strategic decision-making. Develop and deliver training on financing trends, products, and regulations.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a related post-secondary education paired with a minimum 5 years of financing experience. Other qualifications include:

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and partners.
  • Proven track record of performing effectively in a fast paced, multi-project, and dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding the process of preparing financing documentation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a keen ability to spot anomalies.
  • Ability to travel to SMS branches as required.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of computer software applications typically used including MS Office and TValue.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is considered an asset.
  • A CPA or an MBA is considered an asset.
