Job Description

The IT Asset Management department is seeking a full-time Summer Student to join our team for a 4-month term from May to August 2025. In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience under the guidance of senior technical specialists. You will assist with managing IT assets and provide support in various IT-related tasks, including asset data tracking, reporting, and using the ServiceNow platform. The successful candidate will gain exposure to IT asset management processes and the technology currently in use at the AESO. This position primarily involves working with the Asset Management team, but you will also collaborate with other IT roles across the organization.

Key accountabilities:

  • Reviewing and updating IT asset management data

  • Updating and correcting legacy IT asset data

  • Creating and maintaining asset entitlements, software models and discovery models

  • Maintaining the software and hardware catalogue

  • Investigating missing data and data anomalies for IT assets

  • Assisting with the implementation of new IT asset management processes

  • Maintaining IT assets through the Asset Workspace, Software Asset Workspace and CMDB Workspace.

You have:

  • Completed at least 3rd year in an IT Technical Certificate/Diploma or Computer Science/Engineering Degree (Or equivalent).

  • Completion of communication courses, business writing, or technical writing is beneficial.

  • Interest in working with IT operational processes.

  • Experience of working with ServiceNow is an asset.

  • Experience and a passion for written and verbal communication, preparing documentation, strong writing skills.

  • Experience with process development and documentation is an asset.

  • Having a Positive and professional attitude.
