ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-focused Senior Tax Analyst to join our dyanmic Corporate Tax team. As the Sr Tax Analyst, you are primarily responsible for the preparation of tax returns and income tax provisions, managing audits by various taxation authorities, performing research, and providing tax advice to the business.
This is a full-time salaried role located at our new head office in Downtown Calgary.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Prepare Canadian income tax returns and related filings, ensuring compliance with regulations and accuracy
Support the preparation of Canadian tax filings and compliance requirements for the company's foreign investments
Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely tax provisions
Coordinate and assist with the preparation of Scientific Research and Development (SR&ED) filings
Prepare Canadian indirect tax returns and ensure compliance with applicable regulations
Analyze and review budgeting and long-range forecasting processes for current and deferred taxes
Contribute to tax planning and reorganization initiatives to optimize tax efficiency
Support Federal and Provincial tax audits by preparing and maintaining required documentation and resolving audit-related issues
Respond to tax inquiries and provide expert support to internal operations and finance teams
Provide support on all other tax-related matters and contribute to special projects as required
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
To be successful in this role, we are looking for the following must-have qualifications and experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
CPA designation with completion of the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course
Minimum of 7 years of experience in corporate tax
Strong knowledge of IFRS; US tax experience is considered an asset
Self-motivated with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
Proven organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities effectively
Expertise in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting complex data to draw logical conclusions
Proficient in Excel, SAP, TaxPrep, and CanTax FormMaster
Demonstrates a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability
Strong teamwork and team-building skills with a collaborative mindset
Results-driven and adaptable, with a resourceful, "can-do" attitude
Proactive problem-solver who takes ownership of challenges and delivers solutions
