ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently looking for a collaborative and results-focused Tax Analyst to join our dynamic Corporate Tax team. As the Tax Analyst, you will be focused on assisting in the preparation of income tax provisions and returns, supporting Canadian tax filings and compliance for domestic and foreign investments, and working with the finance team to ensure accurate tax provisions. Along with contributing to tax planning initiatives and audits.

This is a full-time salaried position located at our new head office in Downtown Calgary. This role also offers the flexibility of a Hybrid work schedule.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Assist in preparing quarterly and annual income tax provisions

  • Prepare Canadian income tax returns and related filings

  • Support the preparation of Canadian tax filings and compliance requirements for the company's foreign investments

  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate tax provisions

  • Assist with the Scientific Research and Development filing process

  • Help prepare Canadian indirect tax returns

  • Contribute to the review and analysis of budgeting and long-range forecasting processes for current and deferred taxes

  • Participate in tax planning and reorganization initiatives

  • Assist with tax audits conducted by federal and provincial income tax authorities, including preparing and maintaining supporting documentation

  • Respond to tax inquiries and provide support to internal operations and finance personnel

  • Assist with various other tax-related matters and special projects as required

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field

  • CPA designation or working towards completion

  • CPA Tax In-depth or working towards completion

  • 3-5 years of corporate tax experience

  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

  • Experience with U.S. tax is an asset

  • Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Skilled in collecting and analyzing complex data to draw logical conclusions

  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with SAP, TaxPrep, and CanTax FormMaster is an asset

  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability

  • Strong teamwork and team-building skills

  • Results-oriented with adaptability, flexibility, and resourcefulness

  • Collaborative problem solver who takes ownership of issues and drives them to resolution
