We're looking for a Divisional Accountant to join our High Prairie OSB Division, located in High Prairie, Alberta. Our mill has undergone an exciting major rebuild and modernization including the commissioning of a new continuous press which makes us the most modern mill in North America, allowing us to produce forest products safely and sustainably for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities.
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
- Completion of post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related program.
- Completion of, or working towards, your CPA designation.
- Knowledge of accounting functions, financial reporting, and statistical reporting.
- Experience providing accounting within a manufacturing environment, with wood products manufacturing, preferred.
- Familiar with Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE).
- Excellent Excel skills, including experience with Power BI.
- Experience with JD Edwards, an asset.

In this role you will:
- Provide accurate financial information, including financial statements, budgets, and variance analysis.
- Assist in weekly, monthly and annual financial reporting including variance reports and prepare account analysis, update financial statement formats, account reconciliations and journal entries.
- Use your strong understanding of financial policies and controls to see the big picture, keep us compliant as an organization and identify opportunities to drive the business forward.
- Partner with departments across the mill to deliver excellent customer service.
