As a Director of Finance, you would have the key responsibilities of overseeing and optimizing the financial strategies of the organization by providing strategic financial guidance. The Director of Finance will lead a dynamic finance team that will contribute to the overall financial health and success of the company.

What you will be responsible for:

Strategic Financial Leadership and Management

  • Develop and implement financial strategies and IT solutions aligned with the organization's overall goals and objectives.
  • Provide visionary leadership to the finance team, ensuring effective execution of financial initiatives.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to drive financial planning, analysis, and decision-making.
  • Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Manage cash flow, investments, and financial risk to optimize fiscal performance.
  • Conduct regular financial analysis and present insights to senior management.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance on financial policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Conduct performance assessments and drive professional development within the finance team.

Compliance, Risk Management, and Legal Collaboration

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and company policies.
  • Mitigate financial risks and implement effective risk management strategies.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel on financial and regulatory matters when necessary.

Strategic Planning, Decision Support, and Financial Reporting

  • Play a key role in strategic decision-making, providing financial insights to support business initiatives.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and financial institutions.
  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Utilize financial analysis to inform decision-making and identify areas for improvement.
  • Evaluate and implement financial technology solutions to enhance efficiency, reporting capabilities, and to help deliver an integrated ERP solution across all regions.
  • Opportunity to participate in M&A activity, especially with respect to financial integration, but also other areas if capable and interested.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in financial operations.

What we need from you:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or comparable designation is required.
  • 7-10 years of managerial accounting and financial management experience in a rapidly growing environment.
  • Experience working in public practice is an asset.
  • Mergers and Acquisition finance experience, including financial integration of targets, are an asset.
  • Recent experience scaling a finance operation from inception to at least $100 million in annual revenues, is an asset.
  • Proven success in developing and implementing financial strategies that drive organizational success.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and best practices.
  • Track record of achieving and exceeding financial targets.
  • Experience in financial planning, analysis, and decision support.
  • Previous experience in leading and developing successful finance teams.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Entrepreneurial business experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Sage 300 financial software an asset.

Compensation Expectations

The pay band control point for this role is $168,000.00 and represents an employee that possesses full job competencies, qualifications, and experience for the position. Normally, incumbents will be hired, transferred, or promoted between the minimum and the control point of the pay band for a job, taking into account internal equity, and experience or readiness in this job. Starting salaries above the control point may be considered to recognize exceeding experience, qualifications, and competencies.
