We are currently seeking a Marketing Specialist to join our team.

Reporting to Manager, Relationship Marketing, the Marketing Specialist is responsible for the development and delivery of marketing campaigns that supports the growth of First West Credit Union. They contribute to our marketing goals by developing a range of deliverables across multiple formats and channels, including, email (CRM), website, social media content, and paid advertising. This role works as part of a cross-functional team of marketers that support our regional and enterprise brand marketing activities.

Here's what would be included as a part of your typical day

  1. Content Creation: The Marketing Specialist develops content that educates, informs, and inspires current and prospective members, positioning First West Credit Union as a financial partner. This includes creating materials for email campaigns, website pages, social media, and advertising. They collaborate with the marketing team to ensure all content is accurate, engaging, and aligns with First West's brand voice and objectives. Consistency in tone and style across formats is maintained, with thorough editing and proofreading to ensure clarity and coherence, while supporting integrated marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  2. Campaign Delivery: The Marketing Specialist reviews the campaign brief provided by strategy and key business stakeholders to understand the business objectives, target segments, and key performance outcomes. They collaborate to assemble content, design, and digital and traditional media tactics into an effective campaign that satisfies the campaign objectives. Additionally, they monitor and analyze the performance of campaigns, suggesting improvements to enhance effectiveness and engagement.
  3. Project Management: In this highly collaborative role, the Marketing Specialist leads projects and processes while involving all key stakeholders to establish consensus. They provide expertise in business case development and presentation efforts, supporting all stages of the project life cycle. This includes communicating changes, enhancements, and modifications to business stakeholders, managing risks, and setting clear expectations for the project team. They also draft and document PGPPs, ensuring the accuracy of the team's references and guidelines.

Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma in marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Undergraduate courses / degree in Business, Marketing or Communications or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a marketer in a large enterprise, preferably in the financial services industry.
  • Proficiency in creating content (short and long-form) for various formats, including email, web, social media, and advertising.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment that often requires multi-tasking and flexibility managing a diverse portfolio of projects and tasks
  • A natural ability to build positive, productive relationships with team members and management, and a natural curiosity and positive, solution-focused, problem-solving attitude that can take feedback well and respond to stakeholders' needs
  • Broad knowledge of each of the cross-functional components of a successful marketing organization including content development, digital media, graphic design and campaign activation
  • Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking, problem solve and work effectively with little instruction to provide value to colleagues and management
  • Creativity: Demonstrated ability to generate innovative content ideas and solutions.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Time Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust content strategies based on feedback and changing market dynamics.
  • Analytical Thinking: Capability to assess content performance metrics and derive actionable insights for continuous improvement.
  • Strong understanding of marketing fundamentals and best practices
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) and customer relationship management (CRM) tools.
  • Intermediate skills in using Adobe Creative Cloud, including Animate, Photoshop, and InDesign
  • Familiarity with SEO principles and techniques to optimize content for search engines.
  • Exceptional editing and proofreading abilities.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and content creation tools.
  • Experience in digital analytics and custom reporting tools (GA4 / Hotjar / SEM / Moz)
  • Experience in an Agile environment an asset
  • Displays an understanding of risk and risk ownership by being able to demonstrate adherence to policies and procedures.
