The Relationship Manager Lead (RML) at Prospera Credit Union is responsible for maintaining and growing advisory relationships with our highest value members while also providing back-up leadership support to the Branch Manager.

As a Relationship Manager Lead, you will have a highly developed process for proactive outreach, pipeline management, and engagement of our line of business specialists to meet complex member financial needs. The RML works to expand relationships beyond the individual member to member households - supporting the transfer of wealth and financial health of the next generation. They also will provide reciprocal support to line of business team members and provides omni-channel back up support to MXS, MSC, and AC management roles. This role is a Tuesday to Saturday position.

What you'll do:

  • Proficiently assess members' financial objectives, risk tolerance, and unique needs to provide tailored advice.
  • Effectively create holistic financial strategies that encompass investment, lending, protection, and omni-channel day to day banking.
  • Facilitate referrals to trusted partners (other lines of business or external as required), ensuring a smooth transition of the member while maintaining trust.
  • Responsible for the onboarding and initiating relationship conversations and introductions with new retail and business members that fit within the highest value member portfolio.
  • Develops and advances member relationships through the utilization of Financial Health Checks, pipeline management, and effective referrals to other Line of Business Specialists.
  • Contributes to positive member CEI scores thorough consistent adherence to the advisory process, adaptation of service.
  • Executes on holistic advice based financial strategies by fulfilling members complex lending, investment, protection, and day to day banking needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of member interactions, advice, and transactions, while adhering to internal policy, regulatory compliance, and ethical standards.
  • Has a solid understanding of registered products including tax implications and is comfortable developing strategies for term deposits to balance members needs for liquidity and desired returns.
  • Support the execution of cash-related and other operational tasks on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
  • Assist in the supervision of compliance and audit responsibilities, including the management of ATM, night deposit processes, postdated and pending file management, cash and negotiable balancing.
  • Help drive outcomes through leadership in campaign management and reporting.
  • Provides back-up support for other advice center roles as needed.

What you bring:

  • Grade 12 or Equivalent and Business Administration or Marketing diploma or degree (a plus).
  • 3+ years in financial services with at least one year in an advisory capacity.
  • Experience with mortgage lending (preliminary credit assessments) and selling mutual funds(required)
  • Required Mandatory Designation/License/Certification:
    • Licensed to sell mutual funds(required)
    • CUIC 210 or equivalent internal training to be completed within 12 months.
    • Completion of or willingness to complete Financial Planning courses (an asset).
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and organized, ability to effectively manage time.
  • Understanding of risk and mitigation tactics.
  • Demonstrated results and high performance in the RML or equivalent role.
  • Experience in a professional financial advisory sales environment.
  • Strong financial acumen and knowledge of financial products and service.
  • Understanding of retail lending, including complex mortgages.
  • Superior understanding of investments including proven experience selling mutual funds and developing holistic financial plans.

Prospera offers a total compensation package of base pay plus incentives that is market competitive and reviewed against the market annually. Starting salary is normally targeted around the middle of the posted salary range, and is determined based on the successful candidate's knowledge, experience and internal equity. Our expected starting salary for this role is $58,950 to $65,500.
