Summary:

As support staff off the gaming floor and the leader of the surveillance department, you will be responsible for ensuring that our operators uphold our standards of quality and performance. You will lead your team in providing the last line of defense to our casino guests, staff, and the facility, along with its assets. You are reliable, diligent, and have a high level of integrity; you are self-motivated and contribute positively to a team environment; you are meticulous in all areas of your duties and work well with computers; you are confident with your judgment and can convey your findings in writing. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support and guide the surveillance team by ensuring all are working well together.
  • Ensure BCLC & GPEB Policies, Procedures, and Regulations, along with our Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Internal Department Procedures (IDP) are conducted to the highest integrity level and professionalism.
  • Proactively observe and review videos to complete required documentation of specific incidents, including, but not limited to, customer complaints, procedural errors, risk management issues, AML investigation, player evaluations, thefts, and discrepancies.
  • Responsible for monitoring table games, slot machines, and all critical areas of the Casino.
  • Complete daily logs, prepare compliance review reports and incident reports as required.
  • Preserve video coverage/evidence of significant events as directed.
  • Train new employees as well as coach current employees regarding the implementation of new policies and procedures
  • Be responsible for the accuracy and thoroughness of investigations and reports submitted by operators in the office.
  • Clearly communicate with floor security officers in the event of suspicious activity, failure to follow protocols or procedures.
  • Assist Department Managers, Police/ BCLC/GPEB Investigators, and Compliance Officers.
  • Duties and responsibilities may include the installation of surveillance cameras and access controls.

    Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities required:

    • Maintain the highest level of honesty, integrity, and confidentiality.
    • Proven to be detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, efficient, and diligent in duties and responsibilities.
    • Must be self-motivated, able to multi-task, pay great attention to detail and be well organized.
    • Outstanding customer service skills, including demonstrated ability to be friendly, efficient, polite, and patient.
    • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
    • Ability to focus on a computer screen for a long period of time.
    • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
    • Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.

    Experience, Training, Certification, and Education:

    • The ability to obtain a Casino Surveillance Operator (CSO) Training Completion Certification Level 1 & 2. (Online course/written exam).
    • The ability to successfully obtain a Criminal Record Check and Gaming Worker Registration through the Gaming Enforcement Branch (GPEB).
    • 2 + years of demonstrated security/surveillance gaming experience or;
    • 1-2 years of supervisory experience in a gaming environment is an asset.
    • Table games experience is an asset.
    • Education in the study of law enforcement is an asset.
    • CCTV Technicians Certification an asset.
