The RBC Dominion Securities downtown Vancouver office in Royal Centre is seeking a senior member of a successful and growing private client wealth management business. As Associate Portfolio Manager (available to CFA charterholders) or Associate Investment Advisor (available to CIM designation holders) your role is to deliver customized investment advice, wealth management strategies and exceptional service to our clients.

As a valued and senior team member, you will be compensated for your contribution and responsibilities to the business. Candidates must have at least 7 years of investment industry experience ideally dealing with high-net-worth clients. The role requires daily on-site presence in the office working alongside the rest of the team.

What will you do?

  • Provide customized investment and wealth management advice to our clients
  • Conduct portfolio reviews with our clients
  • Prepare and present financial plans to our clients
  • Work with the extended team of planning experts within RBC Dominion Securities (including Financial Planning, Estate Planning, Business Owner Planning, Trust Planning, Charitable Planning, Insurance Planning and other professional specialists) to assist in providing wealth management advice to clients
  • Provide exceptional service to our clients
  • Promote and support a work environment that inspires innovation, creativity and teamwork

What must you have to succeed?

  • First class client service skills
  • At least 7 years of investment industry experience
  • Exceptional verbal and written English skills
  • Degree from a recognized university
  • CFA designation (to be considered for Associate Portfolio Manager title)
  • CIM designation (to be considered for Associate Investment Advisor title)
  • Commitment to obtain CFP designation (if not already held)
  • IIROC licensed as a Registered Representative (RR) (or willingness to obtain)
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Resident of the Greater Vancouver Area and legally able to work in Canada

The expected base salary range for this position is $38,000 - $55,000 depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs.

You have the potential to earn considerably more through RBC's robust discretionary bonus program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.
