What will you do?

You will be responsible for coaching Disability Case Managers (DCM) to enhance skills to optimize claims duration / outcomes and develop superior Case Management Excellence behaviours.

  • Providing feedback and coach the DCM team in client-focused case management and achieving results
  • Refining your assigned DCM team skills on the best use of tools and approaches, caseload management, forecasting, workload prioritization
  • Supporting DCM in change management and achieving overall measured team performance
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes to better meet our service excellence, quality, and financial commitments to our Clients
  • Identifying emerging trends by using reporting and caseload reviews, and develop a plan to address them
  • Collaborating with your Manager, your CMC peers, trainers, and other stakeholders to address learning and development opportunities

What do you need to succeed?

  • Expert in Disability Case Management (short-term and/or long-term disability) with strong coaching skills
  • Understands the larger scale of the disability business and the financial impact on Plan Sponsors
  • Ability to connect the information, to identify trending and to explain the why
  • Great communicator (bilingual in English and French - Quebec only):
    • authentic care and empathetic approach
    • ability to influence and negotiate
  • Analytical and detail oriented, especially with complex claims and contracts
  • Superior organizational and problem solving skills
  • Leadership and change management skills
  • Proactive and innovative
  • Resilient and able to handle and overcome difficult and stressful situations
  • Tech savvy - comfortable using multiples platforms and systems
  • Thrives in a dynamic, fast paced environment
  • Collaborative team player with a positive attitude and a drive to succeed

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
