BFL CANADA is looking for a Claims Advisor for its Vancouver Office!

The purpose of this position is to act as a key liaison between adjusters, vendors, and insurers, advocating for the timely, fair, and equitable settlement of property claims. Your tasks will include overseeing the resolution of claims on BFL CANADA Real Estate accounts, ensuring all processes are executed efficiently, and promoting BFL CANADA as the broker of choice

YOUR DAY AS A CLAIMS EXAMINER:

  • Upon notification of a new claim, reviews the relevant policy and gathers all necessary facts and information for the insurer.
  • Conducts analysis of claims and coverage and recommends solutions to coverage issues.
  • Provides technical expertise to internal and external clients regarding claims coverage.
  • Negotiates payments and reimbursements on the insurer's behalf.
  • Updates the broker on the status of the claim, if required.
  • Enters and maintains current and accurate information in LEO, bordereau and Lineage.
  • Carries on all tasks required by Delegated Authorities, notably examining reports, issuing payments, helping with month-end reports and reconciliation of payments.
  • Maintains current and accurate files and documentation for each claim.
  • Builds and maintains excellent working relationships with internal clients, adjusters, insurers and related trades and experts.
  • Identifies any client or system issues that may arise to the appropriate individuals.
  • Complies with all corporate policies and procedures.
  • Develops claims management reports and distributes reports to management as required.
  • Supports the Claims team with problem files and difficult situations.

                      Our Ideal Candidate:

                        • Minimum 2 years claims handling experience
                        • Chartered Insurance Professional, or in the process of obtaining the designation is ideal
                        • Level 2 license is preferred
                        • Excellent knowledge of coverage and good analytical skills.
                        • Strong problem solving skills in a timely manner
                        • Strong verbal and written communication skills
                        • Ability to work well independently, as part of a team and with others throughout the organization
                        • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and advanced proven Excel skills
                        • Effective time management and organizational skills
                        • Customer focused and service oriented
                        • Attention to detail and precision essential
                        • Able and willing to work under pressure when needed

                      The expected salary for this role ranges from $65,000 to $100,000. Annual salary will be determined by factors including prior experience, location, business segment, and relevance of the candidate's skills to the role.
