What is the opportunity?
As part of the RBC Global Asset Management (RBC GAM) Corporate Events and Employee Engagement team, the Manager, Corporate Events will plan and execute in-person, virtual and hybrid meetings and events for RBC GAM clients, employees and/or other stakeholders. The Manager, Corporate Events will often be the primary point of contact with internal partners to develop effective programs to deliver high-quality client and employee experiences.

Please Note: This is an opportunity available for approximately 18 months in length.
What will you do?
Manage and execute external and internal corporate events including, but not limited to:
Selection and vetting of suppliers (via RFP) and event venues; contracting and coordinating food, beverage, housing and audio-visual requirements.
Managing all aspects of supplier relationships.
Managing the event invitation and registration process (online registrations, etc).
Preparing event collateral and assisting event presenters with logistics.
Liaising with internal partners to ensure seamless event delivery, compliant branding, appropriate messaging, and overall coordination.
On-site set-up, support and facilitation. Travel may be required.
Provide comprehensive reporting, including budget management and tracking, metrics and measurement, research and analysis, and attendee surveys.
Collaborate and work closely with geographically dispersed teams and colleagues to align event management initiatives and processes with those of the event management and employee engagement team, as well as share ideas and best practices with colleagues.
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
5+ years of meeting planning/event management experience preferably in a corporate environment and/or the financial services industry.
Proficiency with technology, specifically with Webex (Meetings & Events), online registration tools and experience working with audio-visual providers on in-person, hybrid and virtual events.
Ability to work in a hybrid environment (minimum 3 days per week in office), as well as flexibility in work hours and the ability to travel (i.e., events outside normal working hours, travel (<25%) within Canada and US).
University undergraduate degree or college diploma in a related field (hospitality, tourism, marketing).
Nice to Have
Bilingual (French/English) is an asset.
Event planning designations (CMP, CMM, DES, CED) an asset.
Event management industry association membership, volunteer hours and/or professional development credits.

The expected salary range for the above position is CAD $70,000 - CAD $100,000, depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, registration status, market conditions, and business needs.
