What is the job?

RBC is seeking to build out a Scanning team out in Vancouver, with a Senior Manager, Scanning Operations! This is a great opportunity to join a global team at RBC, to help us navigate through increasing complexity of cyber threats while growing RBC's business safely. We are looking for an operations minded leader who has strong cybersecurity background and has great insights on latest enterprise technologies from similar environments. This role will be instrumental to lead our Scanning team to ensure we have our eyes and ears on all of our platforms, from on-prem, private and public clouds utilizing the best tools of the trade.

What will you be doing?

  • Monitoring network security environment and identifying security gaps, new and evolving cyber threats; evaluating, implementing enhancements and remedial solutions
  • Perform vulnerability assessments and threat modeling; evaluating risks and making recommendations.
  • Supporting the processes, tools and measures to monitor and detect network security threats, compromises, risks and vulnerabilities
  • Lead the team responsible for end-to-end security scanning operation while maintaining safe operations, application on-boarding, and without impacting planned time to market
  • As a subject matter expert you will be continually developing new innovative solutions and intelligence strategies to ensure RBC's vulnerability and compliance capabilities remain relevant and prepared for the changing threat landscape and emerging threat factors.
  • Establish and build credibility with stakeholders and senior leaders in order to provide representation that is seen as professional, positive and credible.
  • Work in collaboration as a trusted partner to ensure that projects are planned, managed and executed in alignment with the functional strategy and goals.
  • Assist in escalated investigations and triage activities of security-related vulnerabilities that pose a significant threat

What do you need to succeed?

Must have

  • Experience working in a complex, fast-paced and rapidly changing Cyber Operations and/or Cloud Security environments
  • Proven leadership and coaching abilities, people management experience is ideal
  • Strong technical knowledge in scanning operations in wide range of enterprise environments
  • Excellent communication skills, able to manage stakeholders, create, report and present technical ideas to a wide range of audiences
  • Solid foundation in Networking, IT Management and DevOps practices
  • Strong resource management experience, utilizing JIRA, Confluence

Nice-to-have

· Masters or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and/or IT related disciplines

· Experience with security scanning platforms (eg. Tenable, Aqua Security, Qualys)

· Lean Six Sigma experience
