Reporting to the Manager, Cash & Banking, the Treasury Clerk is primarily responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all wire transfers in the internet-based banking systems for the corporate head office and other business units. Duties also include the administration of letters of credit and the confirmation of all financial transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.

  • Responsible for keeping the bank wire transfer systems up to date and efficient, including the request, preparation and maintenance of repetitive templates and daily wire reporting.

  • Back up for daily reconciliation of all the Canadian and USD bank accounts in Teck's Treasury Management System (Integrity) and following up with accounting, sites and operations to resolve any discrepancies.

  • Back up for the integration of emailed cash forecasts from various sites and operations into Integrity.

  • Assist in the administration of Letters of Credit including preparation, amendments, reporting and related fees.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education with a finance orientation is preferred.

  • Working toward the CPA designation (considered an asset).

  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in a finance environment.

  • Experience in Accounts Payable (considered an asset).

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word and Outlook and advanced skills in Excel.

  • The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Effective interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment.

Salary Range: $57,000 - $70,000

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
