Board Member

Sagkeeng Child and Family Services is a First Nations CFS Agency who strives to recruit inspired, accountable, and driven individuals to join our diverse talented team of professionals. SCFS is currently looking for a Board Member to act in a governance role for the Agency.

General Duties:

As a member of the Board, you will provide leadership and experience, while overseeing governance to the Agency, at the same time providing best service practice in your role as a member of the board of directors.

Qualifications:

• Persons committed to the objectives of the Agency.
• Have the ability to actively participate in Board deliberations.
• Exhibit a demonstrated commitment to leading a lifestyle consistent with the mandate of the Agency.
• Must be a registered member of Sagkeeng First Nation and reside in the Province of Manitoba.
• Are not members of a Board or employees of any Child and Family Services Agency governed by the Southern First Nations Network of Care.
• Are not members of any other Sagkeeng First Nation Board.
• Willing to abide by the conflict-of-interest policy and guidelines of the Agency.
• Willing to commit to a minimum 4 (four) year term.
• Are not the Chief or member of the Band Council of Sagkeeng First Nation
• Must be able to provide clear Criminal Records Checks, Prior Contact Checks, & Child Abuse Registry Checks.
• Are not in an elected position in a Metis, municipal, provincial, or federal government.

• Are not a former employee of the Agency whose employment ended unless five (5) full years has expired since the date of termination.
• Are not a care provider licensed by Sagkeeng CFS or providing care for children in the care of Sagkeeng CFS.

Qualified candidates will be required to undergo a criminal record check, child abuse registry check, and a prior contact check.
