As a Senior Commodity Risk Management Analyst, you will support the Trading team with reporting, daily/weekly forecasting and supports the team with any ad hoc request. Your goal will be to keep inventory properly hedged and prevent price risk exposure. The work performed by this role enables Traders and Management teams to support trading activity that will provide effective risk mitigation for the company.

Your Responsibilities:
Support the development, maintenance, and refinement of inventory hedge coverage daily forecasts to support Futures Traders' activities
Collaborate closely with other departments to drive improvements to the hedging program
Provide analytical support for new hedging strategies
Assist in the implementation and maintenance of Front Office valuation, risk and trade capture systems
Work with inventory teams to get most up-to-date information from systems on where our inventory levels are at each day
Provide ad hoc reporting to management and teams. Learn basic functions within team to provide relief as required
Monitor the financial markets and stay current with economic and market news
Collaborate with physical and other traders in understanding broader markets and physical product flows
Provide analysis to compare the effectiveness of the risk management program in relation to the physical inventory balances
Your Skills:
High attention to detail with numbers; many different prices manually uploaded into our database
Strong analytical skills to verify information coming from various sources and validate modelling results
Proven ability to maintain good working relationships with stakeholders including senior leaders
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience dealing with multiple priorities and deadlines / proven ability to meet hard deadlines
Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel
Your Experience:
Post-secondary education in business, economics, or finance-related disciplines or equivalent experience. University degree a definite asset
3-5 years Previous work experience with or within Supply Planning and Futures Trading is preferred
Familiar with software such as Allegro ETRM or other Energy Trading and Risk Management software
Good knowledge of financial markets. (knowledge of oil and product market analysis would be an asset)
Knowledge of Market view and Bloomberg is an asset
Use modelling to produce reports for Futures Traders and validate information
Proactively take input from Traders to improve the quality of reports
Coordinate with Trading team to make sure forecasts up to 30 days are as accurate as possible
Strong understanding of relevant futures, swaps, and options for crude and products
