As a Senior Financial Analyst in our Business Analytics workgroup, you will design, develop, and support analytics solutions, primarily using IBM's Planning Analytics suite of tools. You will create dashboards, reports, and other analytics solutions that will support financial reporting, planning, budgeting, forecasting, and stewardship of results to Finance management, leadership, and operations teams. You will analyze financial and operational data to support its accuracy, relevance, and timeliness. You will also analyze business requirements and develop solutions for optimizing & automating business processes.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Ability to collaborate with finance and business operations to scope & analyze requirements
  • Ability to optimize budgeting & forecasting processes, and analytics solutions
  • Proficient in the design and development of solutions that can help improve or reinvent business processes
  • Proven experience in providing user support throughout the analytics lifecycle (from training through to solution implementation and day-to-day support)
  • Experience as a coach / mentor to less experienced staff on technology and business processes
  • Strong desire to learn about process and technology, and the ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement

Your Skills:

  • Strong business analysis skills, including the ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve
  • Must be able to maintain good working relationships and partner well with operations and senior leaders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate with both business and technical teams
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint
  • Prompt, professional, articulate, and persistent in interactions with our users and internal customers

Your Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in finance, statistics, computer science, mathematics or related field (degree preferred, but diploma in combination with work experience will be considered)
  • Minimum 7 years of experience working in finance, business analysis, data analysis, or in a data visualization role
  • Experience in IBM Planning Analytics (TM1), Oracle Essbase (Smart View), or other multi-dimensional financial planning technology, is required
  • Experience in IBM Cognos Analytics, Microsoft PowerBI, or other Business Intelligence / Data Visualization technology is required
