Job Summary

This position is responsible for reviewing placing drawings necessary for the fabrication and placement of reinforcing steel bars and related accessories in accordance with customer contract documents and industry standards. In addition, the Shop Drawing Coordinator should be familiar with all aspects of commercial construction such as estimating, planning, and submittals. The ideal candidate should have experience working with detailing software, have project management skills, and a keen eye for detail. They must also be comfortable working within rigid time constraints with the ability to interact with all levels of operations.

Responsibilities

• Review shop drawings generated by the detailers to ensure conformance with contract drawings, industry standards, and presentation for customer approval
• Work closely with the Detailing Manager and Project Managers to fix identified deficiencies in shop drawings
• Review and assess customer comments noted on shop drawings when returned from approval
• Consult with Detailing Manager and Project Managers regarding potential changes to project scope identified by customer on shop drawings
• Additional duties as assigned

Technical Requirements

• Post-secondary education from a technical CAD program is considered an asset
• Technologically inclined and adept at learning new systems
• Familiarity with concrete construction
• Ability to read blueprints/shop drawings

Business Requirements

• Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Teams, OneNote, and SharePoint
