DUTIES:
The successful candidate will perform accounting and financial duties with respect to research project activities in the areas of grants for the Canada Foundation for Innovation, Department of Industry, Energy and Technology, Canada Research Chairs, Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, Industrial and International Programs and Collaborative Research Projects with Industry Partners.

Duties include developing cost estimates; monitoring budgets; ensuring all appropriate costs are charged to projects; preparing analytical, deficit and grant end date reports, quarterly and annual financial claims and invoices as required; tracking in-kind contributions; ensuring fair market assessment is appropriate when necessary; meeting with faculty, principal investigators, departmental administrative staff, and the RIS liaison staff to ensure spending is on track; assisting with audits and with the financial administration of the University with respect to research accounting; and performing other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience (3-5 years) in university, governmental, or commercial accounting; graduation from a four-year college or university program with an undergraduate degree in Commerce or Business Administration; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Experience working in a computerized accounting environment and knowledge of Microsoft Office is required. An accounting designation and/or knowledge of Banner Finance would be considered assets.

SALARY $54,770 - $82,150 per annum (Management and Professional)
