This role requires a candidate who can strike the right balance between technical proficiency, business acumen, and stakeholder management. You will help drive meaningful discussions with stakeholders, turning data-driven metrics into actionable insights, and fostering a collaborative problem-solving environment. If you are passionate about financial markets, data-driven decision-making, and process improvement, this role offers a chance to make a significant impact and contribute to our team's success.

  • Facilitate stakeholder forums with upstream and downstream teams to review metrics, address queries, and foster accountability
  • Present findings and provide updates in a way that is accessible and meaningful to non-technical stakeholders and drive discussions on remediation plans
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business users and IT partners at both senior and junior levels
  • Support team's growth by improving the quality of reporting and deepening the team's understanding of reconciliation operations
  • Prepare and maintain clear, well-structured documentation covering processes and action plans, and regularly share updates with team leadership and stakeholders to ensure transparency

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated experience presenting data and insights clearly to diverse stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of financial markets and capital markets, particularly with associated operational workflows
  • Strong problem-solving ability to identify patterns and trends using metrics and data
  • Proficiency in SQL with intermediate skills for data querying and reporting
  • Advanced Excel skills, including experience generating pivot tables and formulas
  • Post-secondary education in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Math or a related field

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with visualization platforms like Tableau
  • Knowledge of reconciliation platforms or financial systems
  • Knowledge of different reconciliation types, such as cash, position, trade, and data reference
  • Understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Strong understanding of data lifecycles, including focus on data governance
  • Experience with data science methodologies, including machine learning and advanced pattern recognition.

What's in it for you?

We thrive on our challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper. We care about each other, reaching our potential, making a difference to our communities, and achieving success that is mutual.

  • Interaction with a wide variety of departments within Capital Markets
  • The opportunity to work on projects relating to bank wide data initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with business partners, IT and Data management in order to deliver new capabilities effectively
  • Stay close to industry best practices in account, client data and KYC management
  • Apply interpersonal and influencing skills to develop strong relationships with the Data Management team, Data Management IT, stakeholders across RBC CM, and individuals participating in the various data project streams
