About the role

Lockheed Martin Canada Inc. is seeking an experienced Instructional System Designer (ISD) to join our Technical Training team. The ISD is an operational role responsible for analysis, design and development of training products and services across Domestic programs. The ISD will support evaluation and validation activities as well as iterative and follow-on reporting, progress status tracking, stakeholder engagement and planning for next actions. The ISD will report to the Training Technical Operations Associate Manager and will execute individual technical work across multiple programs. The ISD will work alongside key internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the delivered training solutions meet the high standards and specific needs of our Domestic customers. The ideal candidate will be proactive, energetic, creative and flexible in meeting our Customers' needs.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Follow the Canadian Armed Forces Individual Training and Education System (CFITES) processes and procedures, and the internationally recognized ADDIE model in the analysis, design, evaluation and validation of training
  • Represent Lockheed Martin Canada's Technical Training team as a Subject Matter Expert in training design, training systems and solutions
  • Design training solutions to meet technical requirements across a variety of environments for military customers
  • Support Training Needs Assessments, Needs Analysis, Instructional Analysis and Media Analysis activities culminating in final documentation production and delivery
  • Support courseware development activities, to include quality assurance/testing of training methods and media for a variety of environments
  • Support assessment strategies, evaluation and validation processes and tools, complete evaluation and validation activities and deliver final reports
  • Analyze and report on risks and opportunities related to training scope across multiple programs
  • Support monthly earned-value management activities aligned to scope of effort across programs
  • Function within a hybrid work force

What you bring to the role

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution in the field of Adult Education, Instructional Systems Design, Learning Science, Training and Technology, or other similar major.
  • 3+ years of professional training design experience or no experience with a related Master's degree
  • Experience working on technical training solutions for military customers across Land, Air and Maritime environments
  • Experience in designing traditional, blended and virtual training across interactive media instruction levels 1 through 4
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Armed Forces Individual Training and Education System, policies and procedures
  • Ability to achieve a NATO Secret security clearance
  • Experience in working with and supporting solutions across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience in preparing and delivering training specific briefs to internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in managing multiple conflicting priorities while progressing milestone tasks
  • Strong written and verbal communication

Additional skills desired for the role

  • Experience with Military trainers and synthetic training solutions considered an asset
  • Familiarity with Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS), Jira, Windchill and Confluence
  • Earned Value Management reporting
