About the role

Ground Based Air Defence (GBAD) systems are one of the most highly demanded military systems in the world today. GBAD systems provide tactical air defence protection to friendly forces and vital installations during expeditionary and domestic operations against the increasingly diverse air threat.

Lockheed Martin Canada Inc. (Lockheed Martin) is expanding its portfolio into the GBAD market in Canada and globally. The senior GBAD engineer will join the team in a technical role to execute GBAD programs and to grow the GBAD portfolio. More specifically, working as part of the GBAD team, the responsibilities include:

  • Design, develop, integrate, test and deliver GBAD systems
  • Establish and managing to Design-To-Cost (DTC) targets
  • Mentor engineering staff assigned to programs
  • Propose GBAD solutions for customers
  • Cultivate and maintain customer relationships.

What you bring to the role

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education
  • 15 years or more of professional experience delivering Canadian Army programs including sensors, weapons, vehicles, communication systems and shelters
  • Minimum of 10 years of Systems Engineering experience in a lead or equivalent position in Canadian Army programs
  • Experience with GBAD systems
  • Strong team player and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to influence
  • Strong team player and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated soft skills, agility and solution oriented.
