At the Department of Opportunities and Social Development (DOSD), formerly known as Department of Community Services (DCS), we are a large and diverse team that leads a broad portfolio of programs and services including Child and Family Wellbeing (CFW), Employment Support Services and Income Assistance (ESIA), Homelessness and Supportive Housing, and the Disability Support Program (DSP).
Through our services, we advocate and help vulnerable Nova Scotians be independent, self-reliant, and secure. We work collaboratively across the province with a strong, dedicated network of staff and partners.
We're recruiting a Research and Statistical Officer 1A-B (Project Coordinator, Innovation), to join the Innovation Team. In this role, you will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team that is focused on driving impactful change within DOSD. The Innovation Team leads a variety of projects aimed at improving service delivery and operational efficiency, and this position offers the opportunity to contribute to initiatives that have a meaningful impact on the lives of Nova Scotians.
The Innovation Team supports several portfolios, all with significant process, system and people change. As part of this team, you will use your organization and financial management expertise to support various projects and overall Branch operations. In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external partners, actively participate in your assigned projects, and work to improve business processes and systems within the Innovation Team. This position reports to the Manager, Innovation, and works closely under the direction of various Project Directors, Project Managers, and Business Analyst colleagues.

This role is based in a comfortable office environment, and you may be working at your computer for extended periods of time. You may be required to travel to worksite locations.
Your normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day.
This is a TERM employment opportunity with anticipated end date of December 18th, 2025. The appointment status (‘term’, ‘temporary’ or ‘casual’) is dependent on the start date of the successful candidate.
Pay Grade: PR 04 - PR 07
Salary Range: $1,773.75 - $2,458.24 Bi-Weekly
