Senior Manager, Retail Virtual Advice Delivery
Location: Please note this position is located in Halifax Nova Scotia, 5251 Duke Street, Duke Towers. It is an in office position.
The Sr, Manager, Retail Virtual Advice Delivery will provide direction, support and coaching to a team of Virtual Financial Advisors to support the overall success of the Virtual Advice delivery in a manner that is aligned to the overall Canadian Banking Strategy while developing a customer-focused sales culture.
This includes meeting team and individual financial objectives through strong sales, profitable growth and retention of the assigned retail portfolio and a primary responsibility for embedding and sustaining sales activities such as the Branch Management Disciplines and Service Basics such as the Customer Experience Model. This will be achieved by remotely selling customized financial solutions using a financial planning approach to meet customer needs and business objectives.
Is This Role Right for You? In this role, you will:
Lead a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
Lead and develop a virtual sales team in their responsibilities of remotely building and maintaining long term relationships with a portfolio of assigned customers; support the Virtual Advice team on best practices in customer outreach and engaging/deepening with customer book remotely to drive sales and meet performance targets
Assess team sales and performance results and recommend course of action to enhance team performance.
Identify and recommend customer book and market opportunities to drive sales results for the virtual advice teams
Manage and minimize the Bank's exposure to risk; oversee the implementation of the Bank's policies, practices, procedures and specific pilot related activities; understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviors; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.
Escalating trends, issues, opportunities to appropriate Business Line Partner as appropriate with supporting recommendations
Ensuring all regulatory compliance and ongoing product knowledge and training for advisors are up to date in order to adhere to periodic acknowledgement of completion.
Assisting with the development and refinement of the virtual advice model to generate incremental business, client and Advisor value

Expert knowledge in virtual sales challenges and best practices
Expert knowledge of sales management activities and techniques, including execution of the Branch Management Disciplines.
Thorough knowledge of marketplace in which branches operate.
Thorough knowledge of Retail and Small Business products and services, including a working knowledge of systems, routines and operating procedures.
Thorough knowledge of interviewing, solicitation and telemarketing techniques.
Thorough knowledge of negotiating techniques.
Thorough knowledge of Branch systems (e.g. Intralink, Sales Builder, Regional Information System (RIS), Worklist, etc.);
Thorough knowledge of credit risk/adjudication policies and processes.
Thorough knowledge of people and performance management techniques.
Thorough knowledge of regulatory compliance related to Privacy, Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorist Financing, FCAC, FATCA, Know Your Customer requirements, CDIC and Occupational Health & Safety
Thorough knowledge of Mutual Funds Compliance Officer responsibilities, processes and guidelines.
