Position Title: Co-op Student - Technology Specialist (Quality Assurance Automation)
Reports To: Senior Technology Manager, Core Systems
Department: IT Group Systems
Term: Temporary Full-Time, Four (4) Month Contract or Eight (8) Month Contract (Preferred)
Work Term: May 5, 2025 - August 22, 2025 or December 19, 2025


Work Arrangements:
This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.

What you will be doing:

  • Assist in completing manual and automated test execution
  • Work within a project team to build the automated tests and configure them to execute in projects using tools such as Azure DevOps and various web service test tools
  • Creating API tests
  • Create and maintain a reusable set of automated tests
  • Assist team in maintenance and enhancements of Automation Suite
  • Communicate test results
  • Troubleshoot common script execution issues based on tools being used



What you will bring:

  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary program that includes a Co-operative (Co-op) work component
  • Experience in working in an agile environment
  • Knowledge of testing software
  • Knowledge of Software QA terminology
  • Knowledge of API testing tools
  • Knowledge of or experience with GIT/GITHub
  • Experience with SmartBear TestComplete and Ready API
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative
