As the Internal Audit Services Manager, you will be responsible for assessing and providing assurance to Management and the Audit & Risk Management Committee (ARMC) as to the design and effectiveness of the Corporation's internal controls over financial reporting, and the control environment applicable to the financial and operational functions of Home Hardware. Led by the Director, Enterprise Risk Management this opportunity will suit someone who has strong knowledge of auditing principles, practices and standards as well as strong collaboration and problem-solving skills.

  • Support the goals of the Internal Audit Services (IAS) team as a valued, independent and objective assurance function of Home Hardware.
  • Develop and support Home Hardware's risk-based Internal Audit Program which includes maintaining an audit universe, control evaluation criteria, and testing procedures.
  • Develop the annual risk-based Internal Audit Plan, considering corporate objectives, scope of activities, and resource requirements necessary to complete the Plan.
  • Perform planned audits and reviews in accordance with audit standards.
  • Prepare quarterly reporting to the ARMC on the results of engagements conducted by IAS during the period, and the status of any outstanding audit issues.
  • Work in collaboration with Management, where appropriate, to design and implement effective controls and procedures, and to eliminate redundant or inefficient processes.
  • Provide risk and control expertise to Management as required, including review of system enhancements, business processes and operations, and new or amended corporate policies.
  • Partner with Home Hardware's external auditors, as appropriate, to facilitate testing efficiencies and scope alignment.
We're looking for:
  • Diploma in Accounting, Finance or Business with a minimum of five years of practical experience in complex audit or business process analysis assignments including testing of business controls in an internal audit capacity.
  • CPA, CIA, or CISA designation
  • Proven ability to develop and sustain cooperative and effective working relationships with all levels of Management.
  • In-depth knowledge of auditing principles, practice and standards.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to establish credibility to positively impact business performance.
  • Strong project management, analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • The ability to be onsite three days a week at our corporate office in St. Jacobs, to accommodate our hybrid working model.
