As a Sr Advanced Optical Systems Engineer, you will be empowered to think BIG and challenge yourself to understand more than just one aspect of the optical engineering discipline. You will work alongside some of the world's most talented engineers. You will apply research of complex optical systems to achieve desired optical specifications. You will contribute to the development of Honeywell's state-of-the-art optical instruments for military, space, and commercial applications, including Earth observation, atmospheric monitoring, space situational awareness, space science, and optical communications.
You will report directly to one of our Senior Engineering Manager and you'll work out of our Kanata, ON or Cambridge, ON location on a hybrid work schedule.
You will take a lead role as part of a multidisciplined team, in designing, testing and validating products from prototype to market. Examples of products include a broad spectrum of optical and opto-mechanical elements, ranging from mirrors, lenses, and mounts; critical subsystems such as fore optics and detector assemblies; and up to full instruments incorporating electronics and mechanisms.
