A well-established manufacturer/distributor, is searching for an experienced Financial Controller to join our team.  Reporting to the Vice President, the position will undertake all day-to-day aspects of financial and cash management, including government and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, and administrative functions such as reviewing, developing, implementing and monitoring internal control policies and procedures.

If you are the successful candidate, you will be working  as a critical senior member of a small dediated team  and  your role wiil include managing all accounting operations including A/R, A/P, GL, inventory, costing, revenue, bank reconciliation, payroll (3rd party provider), etc. in accordance with GAAP standards, such as:

  • Managing cash flow and foreign exchange
  • Co-ordinating the annual budget/financial forecasting and reporting
  • Preparing monthly financial statements in an accurate and timely fashion and preparing the year-end close with Company Auditors
  • Managing and complying with local, provincial and federal Government regulatory reporting and remittances such as EHT, HST, Corporate taxes, etc.
  • Preparing monthly sales reporting

To be considered, you will need:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role or a detail-oriented accounting position
  • University Degree in Accounting/Finance discipline
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices, financial reporting and analysis
  • A results orientatioin with the ability to set realistic and attainable goals and meet those on time
  • CPA, or enrolment in CPA program (would be an an asset)
  • Advanced knowledge of MS office, including Excel, Word and Microsoft Dynamics (not required but an asset)

In return, this position offers a salary of $95,000/ year, company-paid benefits, 3 weeks’ vacation, free parking, and a focused, collegial team environment.  Because this is an on-site position, a vehicle is definitely an asset.
