About the job
Working independently, you will conduct in-depth analyses of facts, liaise with internal regional and provincial office staff and communicate and negotiate with service provider executives to seek resolutions on highway construction and maintenance contract claims.

What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirements
• You are a Professional Engineer, licensed with the Association of Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
Demonstrated Construction and Contract Knowledge:
• You have knowledge of a broad variety of construction/maintenance techniques, procedures, methods and practices adopted by contractors in performing capital construction and maintenance work • You have knowledge of contract preparation, design and documentation to interpret various contract specifications and requirements • You have knowledge of standard contract administration practices, procedures and requirements including contract change order procedures
Proven Analytical Skills:
• You have investigative and analytical skills to research the background of claims, analyze technical data, evaluate different points of view, maintain objectivity and make recommendations for settlement
Excellent Negotiation and Communication Skills
• You have negotiation skills to negotiate claims with various contractor/consultant representatives including company owners • You have communication skills, persuasiveness and tact to establish and maintain effective working relationships and to prepare various documents and reports
