As a AS400 System Administrator, you will be:

  • Responsible for the administration and maintenance of the IBM iSeries (servers, multiple partitions)
  • Responsible for message handling, command line utilities, work management, job and print control, device management, system configuration, system security, backup and restore, backup and restore disaster recovery, file transfer integration, OS and application PTF management, job monitoring and recovery, hardware maintenance and optimization, installations and upgrades.
  • Managing and maintaining Development, QA, Production, and Failover systems and servers.
  • Managing roles and rights to use systems and servers.
  • Maximizing up-time, performance and availability of the AS/400 systems.
  • Responsible for the protection of data, including safeguarding PII.
  • Monitoring the High Availability software, role swaps, and disaster recovery for our AS/400 systems.
  • Providing first-level support to end-users to resolve system issues.

Is this the right role for you?

  • You have a university degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
  • You have 10+ years of full-time industry experience as an AS/400 System Admin, in a software development environment.
  • You put customers first. Serving our end-users, in a secure, performant, sustainable and fiscally responsible way, is the only thing that matters.
  • You favor action and results VS talking and slideware.
  • You are proficient with the administration and maintenance of our core environment: IBM Power System i, IBM Rational Developer, iCluster, PTC Implementer.
  • You have experience with most of the following: Fortra Automate, BroadCom CA 2E, Fortra Robot Alert / Console / Schedule, Enforcive Enterprise Security Suite.
  • You are able to work in office located in London, ON
