Overview

As the Claims Advocate, reporting to the Vice President of Claims, you will be a part of the Ontario Personal Lines Claims Team, working directly with clients to receive and advocate for claims results in a Personal Insurance setting.

How you'll make an impact

  • Intake of Personal Lines clients’ new claims and reporting to the insurance company
  • Providing claims counselling to insureds as required in a professional and conscientious manner
  • Inputting data using Applied EPIC BMS system and review as required
  • Maintaining, coordinating and updating client files
  • Communicating with adjusters and insureds with respect to open claims
  • Liaising between insured and insurance carrier where appropriate
  • Providing advocacy on claims, on client’s behalf with insurers
  • Processing incoming mail in a timely fashion
  • Attending company sponsored seminars and educational activities needed to maintain product knowledge and expertise
  • Participating in special Claims projects as required

About you

  • Completion of post-secondary education; Business Insurance program an asset
  • RIBO Licensed or have the ability to acquire the RIBO license within 90 days is a requirement to join our team
  • CAIB or CIP designation or courses completed towards industry designations an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to efficiently use Broker Management software, follow-up systems and electronic filing systems
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Ability to multi‐task between a variety of tasks, projects, and deadlines
  • Comprehensive and effective verbal/written communication skills
  • Client service and/or claims experience in a Personal Lines environment
