Support the achievement of corporate objectives by completing and coordinating assigned budget, reporting and finance activities for both internal and external customers. The focus of this role involves ensuring high quality financial information by preparing, coordinating and reviewing work, independently handling Finance projects/requests and supporting stakeholders to ensure deliverables are successful.


Responsibilities:


  • Be a subject matter expert in the creation of annual and multi-year financial plans
  • Take a lead role in producing and reviewing complex variance and profit analysis
  • Ensure high quality Financial Reporting, especially gross profit, incentives and provisions
  • Create insightful analysis for senior executives by learning Honda business and process
  • Organize tasks (including coordinating people) in achievement of deliverables
  • Independently handle Finance projects/initiatives
  • Provide support, communication and coaching to stakeholders to prevent and resolve issues
  • Keep stakeholders (especially management) well informed of progress on objectives
  • Proactively pursue continuous improvement of financial information systems and processes
  • Support system initiatives and compliance activities
  • Cross-functional work with other groups and business operation owners to identify potential accounting issues and recommend solutions


Qualifications:

  • University-level education; accounting or business degree preferred
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA preferred)
  • 3-5 years of progressive finance experience. Budget experience would be an asset
  • Demonstrated experience and comfort leading tasks (e.g. projects, assignments)
  • Advanced communication skills with a focus on collaboration, coaching and support
  • Proven ability to act with autonomy, technical expertise and sound professional judgement
  • Superior attention to detail, ability to adapt/learn and ability to multi-task & prioritize
  • Effectively manages tasks in changing environment, often under pressure and within rigid time constraints
  • Develops and maintains good working relationships with all members of the team
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with internal departments and affiliated subsidiaries
  • Enjoys team building approach of management and department - shares results
