What is the opportunity?
This role is accountable for developing, pricing, monitoring, and preserving the integrity of the profitability of Segregated Funds and Payout Annuity products, with exposure to our other Individual Health and Life products. This position supports the attainment of our strategic objectives, including the growth of new lines of business, and greatly influences the brand reputation for RBC Insurance Company.
What will you do?
•Maintain and update pricing models for Wealth insurance products; analyze product profitability, sensitivity and risk metrics to support strategic decision-making
•Collaborate with internal business partners, which may include Valuation, Product Management, Risk and Finance
•Prepare documentation and reports to communicate findings, assumptions, and recommendations effectively
•Monitor regulatory changes and ensure product compliance with relevant guidelines
•Participate in automation and process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in pricing workflows
What will you need to succeed?
Must Have Qualifications:
•Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a relevant fields, passed a minimum of 2 actuarial exams and actively writing
•Minimum 2 years of actuarial work experience in Pricing, Product development, or related fields
•Experience in actuarial modeling tools (e.g. AXIS) and working knowledge in Excel
•Ability to explain complex actuarial concepts and solutions to non-technical stakeholders clearly and effectively
Nice To Have Qualifications:
•Progress toward FSA destination
•Familiarity with actuarial valuation, pricing methodologies, and insurance assumptions
•Understanding of key regulatory frameworks (IFRS 17, LICAT)
•Experience with wealth-oriented insurance products such as annuities or Segregated Funds
•Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., VBA)
•Familiarity with reinsurance and risk management practices
•Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams in a fast-paced environment
