What is the opportunity?
Join our Living Benefits Pricing team as an Associate Director, where you will take a lead role in pricing and optimizing products like Critical Illness and Disability insurance. This position offers the chance to apply your actuarial expertise to shape sustainable and competitive product solutions in a dynamic market. Work closely with cross-functional teams and contribute to meaningful projects that directly impact business growth.
What will you do?
•Lead the development and pricing of Living Benefit products, ensuring alignment with company objectives
•Conduct profitability analysis, sensitivity testing and risk assessments to support strategic decision-makings
•Manage projects related to product pricing, ensuring deliverables are met and expectations are effectively communicated
•Collaborate with product development, Valuation, underwriting to design competitive product offerings
•Monitor industry trends and emerging risks to inform product innovation and development
•Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering their professional growth
What will you need to be successful?
Must Have Qualifications:
•Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a relevant fields and actively writing actuarial exams
•Minimum 5 years of actuarial work experience in Pricing, Product development, or related fields
•Ability to explain complex actuarial concepts and solutions to non-technical stakeholders clearly and effectively
•Strong understanding of living benefits products, including critical illness and disability insurance
•Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and financial reporting standards, such as IFRS 17, and LICAT
•Familiarity with actuarial valuation, pricing methodologies, and insurance assumptions
Nice to Have Qualifications:
•FSA Destination
•Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., VBA)
•Proficiency in actuarial modeling software (e.g., Moody AXIS)
•Familiarity with reinsurance and risk management practices
•Demonstrated leadership and mentorship experience in managing or supporting a team
