About the role

We're looking for a Unit Claims Manager, Multiline/Prestige Claims, to join our growing team!

The person in this role will report to the Claims Manager, Intact Prestige, and will be an important member of the management team dedicated to clients with high-value assets. They will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of a team of diverse risk claims adjusters and field claims adjusters, ensuring they provide exceptional expertise and customer service.

The position is primarily based in Mississauga Ontario. The role may occasionally require some national travel.


What you'll do here:

  • Supervise a claims team dedicated to clients with high-value assets.
  • Contribute to the achievement of corporate and regional objectives by measuring the performance of his or her team, ensuring the quality of claims processing, the level of compliance with standards, procedures and productivity.
  • Ensure that work processes, services, and customer experiences align with client needs and promote the achievement of service objectives.
  • Identify and develop talent, providing regular feedback to direct reports on their performance and skills.
  • Ensure a high level of employee engagement by continuously monitoring overall engagement and creating and executing action plans accordingly.
  • Analyze various indicators and reports to make recommendations for enhancing team efficiency.
  • Maintain service levels.
  • Lead the recruitment process, including interviewing, selection, and onboarding of new employees.


What you bring to the table

  • University degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role
  • Holding or pursuing a CIP (Chartered Insurance Professional) designation is an asset
  • Experience in managing claims related to high-value assets is an asset.
  • Experience in handling auto and home claims files.
  • At least 2 years of team management experience
  • Strong knowledge of personal lines and liability insurance
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Bilingualism is an asset
