Job Description:

Are you a collaborative facilitator with a consulting mindset, an eye for efficiency, and a bias for taking action? If so, consider joining the Enterprise Architecture Governance, Strategy & Innovation team as an Architecture Office consultant.

The Enterprise Architecture Governance (EA) office is an internal team that works with the Architecture team to streamline Architecture Governance processes in need of improvement, optimization, and automation readiness.

Our most successful Analysts are results-oriented contributors with a track record of leading projects to design and implement process improvements that deliver measurable and sustainable results. What will you do?

Enterprise Architecture activities drive targeted business outcomes that enable IT solutions to meet business needs. Working jointly with the Director, Enterprise Architecture Office, the Enterprise Architecture leadership team, and leaders globally, this role will establish the standards by which Enterprise Architecture operates and the skills & capabilities required of EA to support the organization's transformation to Digital Enterprise. Specifically, you will:

  • Assess the performance and capability of processes and operational groups
  • Identify opportunities and champion proposals for improvement (process analysis, business case)
  • Design efficient and effective process solutions
  • Manage the controlled deployment of process and operational changes (pilots, change control, minimize go-live risks, etc.)
  • Facilitate problem solving sessions with Architecture teams
  • Ideally this person would support and learn the Agile Technology Governance , Architecture Portfolio Management process and should provide support and back up of any meetings as needed.
  • Using advanced knowledge of efficiency tools and automation capabilities, evaluate and prepare processes for automation
  • Lead project management activities including planning, scheduling, governance, and execution to successful completion, including maintaining full documentation of the project lifecycle
  • Be a consistent and strong contributor to the Enterprise Architecture team by providing continuous improvement ideas for improving our own productivity and management practices
  • Contribute to the evolution of the EA practice (e.g. Skills development), the development of EA productivity metrics and enable adaptive governance, monitoring and reporting
  • Support the EA team in Audit reviews
  • Stay on top of best practices and industry knowledge to identify process improvements that will create best in class client experience
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders across the enterprise
  • Provide training to EA team members on EA tools and platforms
  • Support business continuity planning

What do you need to succeed?

  • Strong professional consulting skills
  • Strong project management orientation and familiarity with IT processes and systems
  • Drives for change through a strong ability to influence business partners and execute ideas through to completion
  • Communicates openly and directly with various stakeholders to prioritize work deliverables and competing priorities
  • Builds context by pushing beyond "how things are done" to understand "why" and uncover the underlying principles shaping the business
  • ​ 5 years of relevant experience with increasing responsibilities
  • Exposure and experience with Service Now is considered an asset
  • Proven experience creating executive-level presentations
  • Knowledge of MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project,

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
