The Account Management and Collections Branch is looking for individuals with strong problem solving and organization skills and a keen eye for analyzing information to update account information, register specific tax refund applications and trace undelivered mail, in order to promote voluntary compliance and maximize revenues.

What can I expect to do in this role?

You have: • basic accounting skills to perform account tracing activities, compare and evaluate tax roll data, identify discrepancies and recommend action • the ability to use core tax systems (example: Integrated Collection System, Integrated Tax Administration System) and databases (example: MTO, ONTAX, OBR) to investigate, evaluate and resolve incorrect tax roll information
Computer Skills
You have: • the ability to use standard software (example: Word, Outlook, Excel) to maintain records, produce correspondence and statistical data • data entry skills to input and retrieve information
Communication and Customer Service Skills
You have: • oral communication skills to explain information to clients, and to discuss issues with the manager and divisional staff • written communication skills to document findings and prepare correspondence • interpersonal skills, tact and diplomacy to obtain information and to deal with irate clients • customer service skills to communicate with staff and inform clients of their obligations and action required
