Job Title: IT Business Analyst / Finance (Student)

Location: 3187 Albion Road South, Ottawa, Ontario, K1V 3Y8

Temporary Agreement from January 6, 2025 to September 5, 2025


Work Description

The IT Business Analyst Student is responsible for supporting all Taggart Group companies and offices/job sites in the areas of procurement, asset management, vendor relations and ticketing triage. They will play a key role in the administration of IT operations to ensure all locations and employees have the required services and tools to successfully complete their work.


The ideal candidate will have administrative experience, strong customer service orientation, and excellent organizational skills.



Main Responsibilities:

  • Procurement of all IT equipment, including laptops, phones, monitors, mice, keyboards, cables, toners, licenses and other related items. As part of that process, ensuring orders are reviewed, approved and submitted, as well as track the arrival of all items, and ensure the items are delivered to the appropriate user.
  • Liaise with vendors to resolve issues related to orders, cost and deliveries.
  • Code all the invoices before they go to Finance.
  • Maintain inventory of IT equipment.
  • Develop reports on assets, spending and more for Finance and IT departments.
  • Maintain documents related to contracts and vendor agreements related to procurement and services.
  • Preparation of various reports on ticket activity and procurement.
  • Monitor mobile data usage and preparation of monthly reports.
  • Provide administrative support to the department and/or Group, including but not limited to making calls, filing, scanning, printing, drafting various documents, and data entry.
  • Provide support for special projects on an as needed basis, including new office set-up, office moves, and boardroom/meeting logistics related to IT needs on an as needed basis.
  • Other duties as required.



Job Requirements

  • A high school diploma and enrollment in post-secondary education in business administration, commerce, or another related program is required.
  • Experience with Finance, Order Processing, Inventory Management, or IT would be an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite is required, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and strong time management skills.
  • Ability to foster relationships with suppliers, vendors, service providers and internal / external clients.
  • A valid Ontario driver's license, with access to a vehicle is considered an asset.
  • Friendly and helpful demeanour with strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to maintain focus despite frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written, in English is essential.
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality at all times.



Physical/Sensory Effort/Work Environment:

  • Busy, and at times, a loud work environment.
  • Providing service to several people or departments, working under many simultaneous deadlines, working for a group of companies.
  • Overtime as required to meet the needs of the business requirements.
  • Visits to various sites, some of which are remote, for the purposes of delivering items or providing support.
