What is the opportunity?

The Manager, Social Impact, will help to advance RBC’s community investment strategy through partnership development, community activation, employee engagement and operational support. Working with the Director, this role will act as an expert advisor to the regional team in the areas of community investment and citizenship engagement activities directly and support the overall goals and objectives as outlined in RBC Community Investment strategy and more broadly the RBC Purpose Framework.

What will you do?

  • Execute on RBC’s social impact strategy and drive the partnership pipeline to ensure we are actively managing our partners and incoming requests for support
  • Lead relationship manager for donations up to $250,000 and supports Director on partnerships development and stewardship of gifts up to $2,000,000, ensuring organizations have a best-in-class experience.
  • Ensure all donations align to the Global Community Investment Policy and are responded to within the 90-day SLA as defined by the Enterprise Social Impact team.
  • Work with Director, to ensure all reporting is up to date and Smart Simple SLA is being met by all team members.
  • Work across the Sustainability and Impact team to identify unique partnerships and high impact programs to help drive brand attribution at the local or national level through traditional PR and digital channels.
  • Build your capability and confidence so that you can coach to deliver exceptional advice experiences to your colleagues and community partners. Support colleagues from across RBC to confidently take ownership and resolve concerns promptly at first point of contact.
  • Help Senior Managers and Directors manage Community Activation partnerships to ensure all contractual agreements are complete and executed on.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field or has 2+ years’ experience in grant making.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across a diverse network of partners, both inside and outside the bank.
  • Strong ability to communicate project and program plans across stakeholder groups internally and externally.
  • Delivers executional excellence and advice with partners inside and outside of RBC
  • High emotional intelligence as it relates to partnership management.
  • Ability to work with marketing and communications to identify opportunities to communicate RBC and the RBC Foundation’s impact

Nice-to-have

  • 2+ years of specialized experience in the charitable sector and/or a deep understanding of the sector as it relates to skill development, education and/or community development.
  • Excellent public speaking/presentation and written skills.
  • Confidence working with senior enterprise leaders.
  • Experience working on complex private/public partnerships and IT applications.
  • Ability to communicate in French and/or experience working in Quebec.
