Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for the efficient and economical procurement of the university's risk financing program. The Risk Analyst is responsible to collect and analyze required metrics for insurance applications and the auditing of physical assets to ensure accurate valuation for insurance purposes. The Risk Analyst is the key resource person on matters pertaining to the university's insurance program and will also manage the university's Certificate of Insurance software. The Risk Analyst will support the Executive Director, Risk Management Services in the implementation of the university's Enterprise Risk Management program which identifies the strategic risks to the university and requires regular reporting to Senior Management and the Board of Governors.

Qualifications:

The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
• Knowledge of insurance and risk practices and processes and core technical skills
• Knowledge of finance and insurance polices and administration of policies, procedures, and processes
• Knowledge of risk assessment and relevant governing legislation
• Knowledge of office as well as the broader university academic units, departments, and divisions Knowledge of office productivity software and databases, internet browsers and search engines, discipline-specific software, enterprise software, and technology devices

Education and Experience:

The above is normally acquired through the completion of:
• Bachelor's degree in related field plus accreditation or certification or license in related field
• Certified Insurance Professional Designation and the Canadian Risk Management Certification
• Minimum of five year of related experience
