FINANCIAL ANALYST, PRIVATE EQUITY REPORTING

Location: Ottawa (180 Kent Street) + Remote work (flex schedule)
Reports to: Senior Manager, Private Equity
Team: Asset Management, Minto Apartments

Your role on our Team: Working with our Asset Management team, you will have an opportunity to analyze and report on our assets including joint ventures. The information gathered in this role is integral to the understanding and success of Minto's ever evolving assets portfolio.

In this role, you will:

  • Prepare error-free external reporting according to set deadlines
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of joint venture assets including quantitative reporting (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, capital projects) and qualitative (variance commentary, leasing updates, operational updated)
  • Prepare cash flow forecasting and provide monthly recommendations for cash distributions or demands from external partners
  • Form connection with other teams such as Asset Management, Operations, and Finance groups to gather and/or validate information and commentary for reporting

We would like you to have:

Education: Working towards Post-Secondary Education, either a College Diploma or a University Degree, in a related field. Relevant experience will also be considered.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Outlook;
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and flexible nature and has a customer-service focus.
  • Effective communication (listening, verbal and written) and problem-solving skills.
  • Effectively manages time, multi-tasks, and balances priorities.
  • Promotes an environment of open communication, cooperation, collaboration and teamwork.
  • Seeks to understand and appreciate the internal and external customer's perspective.
  • Highly organized with an attention to detail
  • Works well independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in SAP/YARDI or other ERP is an asset
