Job Summary

Internal Audit works to review what's going on behind the scenes of all lines of business across RBC. Job Description

What will you do?

As part of this role, you will assess and provide objective assurance on the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management practices and corporate governance processes to identify whether controls are operating effectively to improve business operations. Key tasks may include:

  • Participating in audits, control design review, continuous audit review and consulting engagements

  • Participate in comprehensive assessment on models used for various purpose, such as market risk, credit risk, AML, etc.

  • Participate in the development of data analytics for model risk governance related data.

  • Participating in planning sessions to develop audit techniques using data analytics.

  • Using Tableau to develop data analytics and visualization reports.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Post-secondary education major in Finance, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or Computer Science.

  • Understanding of the mechanics of basic financial product such as Interest rate swaps, Forwards and Vanilla Options

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with data analytics software packages, data visualization tools and programming languages (Tableau, Python, R, SAS, SQL, etc.).

Nice-to-have

  • Prior exposure to valuations and/or risk analysis of financial trading products would be an asset.

  • Prior exposure to financial/statistical models would be an asset.

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirement for financial institutions and risk management framework would be an asset

Please note:

In order to be eligible for these student positions, you must either:

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date; or

  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating immediately after the work term), you must require the full work term as a mandatory component in order to graduate successfully
