What is the opportunity?
In this rotation the Student will support challenging, business-driven deliverables in a highly flexible, forward-thinking and high-performance work environment that fosters outside of the box thinking. This is a non-traditional Finance role in that it does not operate on month-end and quarter-end Finance cycles.
The Student will take the lead on supporting business case development working closely with various cross-functional teams. This in-turn will grant the Student the unique opportunity to build new relationships across businesses and functions.
The Student will also be given the chance to work on strategic transformation deliverables, allowing for a unique opportunity to gain experience in executing on strategy and building a track record of transformation.
By the end of the rotation, the Student will have had an opportunity to truly drive impact at RBC.
1. Contribute to providing EDS and business partners support in developing business cases and projects. This requires learning quickly the nuances that the different categories of business cases represent. This will give the Student a broad range of exposure and experience necessary to gain a holistic view of the Enterprise Decision Support group.
2. Contribute to EDS strategic deliverables. The Student will develop content for EDS best practices and online presence. This business cases 101 content will serve as a source of relevant information for stakeholders (both internal to EDS and external) when building business cases and will act as a repository for fundamentals for RBC in detail.
3. Take the lead on designing and building out EDS reporting and process mapping. The Student will be have the opportunity to improve current reporting views and to help the team establish enterprise processes. This will require making full use of the learnings the Student is collecting over the term.
