Please note: This posting is for a 4-month Student Summer 2025 placement with a start date of May 2025, and end-date of August2025

CFO Leadership Intern (Summer 2025 Student)

As a Summer Intern placed within the CFO group you will be assigned to a team and a leader that identifies a critical need, to support either their ongoing monthly & quarterly finance, accounting or governance needs, or you may be invited to support a project or key initiative. The exact role will be determine immediately before the start date, based on our business needs at the time.

What will you do?

  • Analysis, forecasting, reporting, reconciling reports, validating data, prepare presentations, data visualization or data automation
  • You may be required to work with Excel, Tableau, PowerPoint, Python
  • You will learn about the diverse, multi-faceted, global organization of RBC
  • You will contribute to business needs through a series of challenging tasks.
  • You will demonstrate your existing knowledge and broaden your experience.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Currently a Masters level student who will graduate in throughout 2025 or 2026.
  • You have 3 - 7 years of professional and relevant work experience
  • Willingness to be proactive, be a leader, take initiative, drive change and provide solutions
  • Self-managed with the ability to work independently, with little direction
  • Proven leadership experience (i.e., at school, at work, in the community, etc.)
  • Confident yet humble;
  • Strong communication skills; verbal and written
  • Collaborative; team player
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and deal with change
  • Aptitude to embrace and leverage emerging technologies

Nice to have:

  • Advanced technical skills - financial modeling, VBA & macros
  • Solid understanding of accounting and financial theory, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical working environment
  • Project Management Skills;
  • Storyboarding skills
  • Finance & Accounting Designations CPA, CFA, CA
