Now Hiring: Accounts Payable Representative (4 Months Contract)

The Accounts Payable Representative will be responsible for processing daily invoices, issuing payments for multiple entities in a timely and accurate manner, delivering on month end close timelines, and a functional area expert in assisting with various projects and system enhancements. The Accounts Payable Representative is required to provide customer service to internal TMX Business contacts and external Vendors.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Reporting to Manager, Accounts Payable and Billing.

  • Ensure timely and accurate (PO/Non-PO) invoice and payments processing for vendors and employee expenses for all TMX entities.

  • Review all payments for accuracy; proper payment method, Banking information and correct currency.

  • Ensure proper controls and checks in place to accurately identify and apply sales tax/self-assessment.

  • Strong knowledge of the Purchase Order process (receiving; matching).

  • Provide General Accountants with support and backup required for G/L and bank reconciliations.

  • Prepare assigned audit requests in an accurate and timely manner; and provide supporting documentations for audit.

  • Resolve any internal or external vendor issues quickly and efficiently for all entities.

  • Build a strong rapport with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Reconciliations of corporate credit card and vendor statements.

  • Maintain and update New Vendor creation process and controls.

  • Manage incoming AP mail, AP Inbox, and TMX Expense Inbox inquiries.

  • Collaborate and lead on various projects to implement system enhancements, workflows, and efficiencies.

Must Have (s):

  • Minimum 1 - 3 years Accounts Payable experience

  • Degree/Diploma in Finance, Accounting or Business

  • In depth knowledge of Accounts Payables process, controls and policies

  • Knowledge and understanding of corporate taxes; HST self-assessment; 1099; T4A; W9 forms

  • Experienced on large ERP system and system conversions

  • Outcome-focused, critical thinker with the ability to analyze and visualize to ensure continuous improvement across our business.

  • Strong ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Word

  • Workday Financials experience (strongly recommended)

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and detailed oriented
