What is the opportunity?

As an Advisor on the RBC Capital Markets Corporate Communications team, you will work with our global communications team to provide day-to-day support on internal and external communications strategies that help deliver on business objectives and drive employee engagement. You will contribute to thoughtful and strategic communications to enhance and protect the reputation of RBC Capital Markets.

What will you do?

  • Provide day-to-day support for our Global Communications team through detail-oriented coordination and execution of internal communication tactics
  • Contribute as an active member of the Internal Communications Sub Team and provide support on cross-platform projects and initiatives
  • Partner with project leads on our Global Communications team to provide event coordination support for town halls and employee engagement activities
  • Develop and regularly contribute interesting and engaging content for RBC Capital Markets' intranet
  • Provide media monitoring support for Canadian RBC Capital Markets coverage, including but not limited to Canadian Research. Develop monthly reports on Canadian Research media coverage.
  • Provide communications support for the Canadian Diversity Leadership Council, including coordinating with RBC's employee resource groups in Canada
  • Work closely with colleagues in Toronto, New York, London, and APAC to ensure seamless and consistent communications
  • Contribute to the success of the overall goals of the Brand, Communications and Citizenship group

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 2-4 years of relevant corporate communications experience, PR firm or financial services/professional services firm preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong knowledge of communication and social media principles and best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team player, and relationship builder.
  • Deadline-driven and results-oriented with strong project time management capabilities.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with design and communication software (i.e. Canva and Poppulo)
  • Design experience
