The role:


Contributes to the overall success of the Global Marketing department in Canada and internationally by performing financial and operations management duties related to Wealth Management marketing, International Banking Sponsorship and event expenses ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed/ delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Manage financial operations and administration related to the Scotia Wealth Management, iTrade, McLeod, Dynamic Funds, Scotia Funds, Scotia Women's Initiative and International Sponsorship budgets managed in Toronto. This entails processing and tracking invoices; opening project codes; reconciling actual spend vs plan; and supporting the development of quarterly and annual reports for a variety of stakeholders including Finance, HR, Compliance and Global Marketing's management team.

  • Support the monthly accruals process for all the areas listed above including compiling all invoices/backup for accruals, gaining all necessary approvals for the monthly accrual and submitting accruals to Finance in a timely manner.

  • Manage and updates the Power BI reports for all the Wealth areas.

  • Support the Senior Manager on the forecasting process for all Wealth Management business lines including reforecasting spend throughout the year to better align with spending patterns and communicating reforecasts to the relevant stakeholders.

  • Provide ad hoc support to other areas as required, including but not limited to, helping manage various Wealth Events budgets (including invoice processing and tracking), supporting other annual activities (GIST etc.), help with training new employees on processes and providing vacation coverage support to the greater team.

  • Champion a collaborative, customer focused culture by building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships across the portfolio - from marketing partners and leaders to Finance business partners and the AP team.

  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

  • Champion a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • University degree with Major in Business, Accounting or Marketing is an asset.

  • 3-5 years of experience in financial management and/or accounting operations and administration.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to build strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders including departmental management.

  • Detail-oriented with strong planning and co-ordination skills required to simultaneously support multiple projects and complete deliverables on time.

  • Advanced Excel skills.

  • Advanced knowledge of Power BI.

  • Experience in developing/compiling management reports.
