Purpose:

The Assistant Manager will be responsible for a broad array of operational duties including, but not limited to, Trade life cycle Management, Trade Control and Client Service-related tasks.

Assistant Managers are expected to be individual performers, delivering top quality output, and supporting the Manager in daily activities and on any projects. They also may be asked to instruct or guide junior members of the team and support the manager in performance management duties.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Operating independently, identifying and resolving issues with minimal oversight. Capable and comfortable operating within tight deadlines, able to make quick decisions, and able to quickly learn about the business/issues, without necessarily having any prior direct experience with the subject matter.
  • Performing daily operational activities in support of GBM business lines with a focus on trade life cycle management, Trade Control, and Client Service
  • Provide Trade Life Cycle Support on all products across Banking/Group Treasury globally. May be required to work independently or collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless trade flow; or to rectify trading problems.
  • Oversee client relationship/liaison management. Manage front office trades along with client/counterparty queries that relate to trade processing. Support initial on-boarding/enablement and on-going account maintenance; as well as general service / report-based queries.
  • Working with applicable trading systems utilized by the various FICC departments including WallStreet, Peak, TLM, MMI, ADP is preferred.
  • Effectively support the FICC trading/sales - will be required to have knowledge of the product offerings across the different business lines.
  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Champions a culture of continuous operational improvement by independently resolving highly complex, multi-faceted problems to meet the business needs across MO with a specific focus on creating tangible / measurable operational efficiencies. This involves opportunity identification, preparing proposals, defining business requirements and processes, developing, testing, conversion and implementation strategies, developing detailed project plans, monitoring progress against planned objectives, and securing consensus and co-operations from users and senior management.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Math, or Business preferred
  • Thorough understanding of the Trade Lifecycle
  • Knowledge/experience in banking/capital markets operations
  • Knowledge of analytical problem solving and process engineering techniques (i.e. process mapping and analysis techniques) preferred
  • Strong technical abilities including knowledge of basic software engineering principles and experience in (SQL, VBA, Access, Excel) preferred

Work Arrangement: This position is currently a Hybrid role. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
