What is the Opportunity?

CNB is seeking a candidate to join its Group Risk Management Market and Counterparty Credit Risk team. Working with Enterprise and local stakeholders, the incumbent will assist with the development of infrastructure to enable prudent risk management and ensure CNB Market and Counterparty Risk Management is compliant with heightened standards. The Associate Director, Market Risk role is an opportunity to learn about a variety of business activities and products across the Bank.

What will you do?

  • Assist in providing independent oversight of market risk arriving from CNB businesses and operations.
  • Work in partnership with various stakeholders to enhance governance and processes at CNB.
  • Participate in the GRM 2nd Line of Defense review and challenges.
  • Assist in the monitoring and review of risk thresholds/limits and ensuring thresholds/limits are comprehensive and include all risk factors that are relevant.
  • Work with Enterprise GRM teams to foster synergy and share best practices.
  • Assist in daily monitoring of limits and providing accurate and timely communication of material and emerging risks to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects as directed by reporting manager.
  • Support the team in ensuring that CNB is compliant with heightened standards.
  • Participate in facilitating the local alignment and/or adoption of RBC frameworks, policies, and standing orders.
  • Assist with the coordination between different stakeholders to facilitate projects related tasks.
  • Look for opportunities to improve and standardize processes within the GRM CNB team.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations/materials to be used in presentation and/or updates to senior executives, committees, or stakeholders.

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree - BS/ Finance or quantitative preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience with exposure to market risk in a large financial institution.
  • Strong knowledge of market risk management.
  • Understanding of markets and products including Derivatives (OTC, Centrally Cleared
  • Derivatives, Exchange Traded Derivatives) and Securities (Securitized Products, Floating Rate.
  • Experienced in managing and coordinating projects.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Prefer 5+ years of banking experience.
  • Degree in quantitative field of study. (e.g. Statistics, Finance, Economics, Business
  • Administration, Computer Science)
  • Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of personal computers and various software packages, including Tableau,
  • Excel and Word.
